Operator – Soulcrusher

Been a while on a post but had to pop in to throw this one out there. I picked up the disc the other day after hearing Operator on Sirius Octane a while back. This is an awesome disc. While the singer, Johnny Strong, sounds like a Chris Cornell imitator and I find it odd that someone would attempt to nearly duplicate a modern era legend like Cornell. There have been a few other bands like Thornley that give you that Cornell feel but not like Strong. While I don’t think he hits some of the higher notes it’s still a bit uncanny. Anyway enough rattling on about the vocals.
The overall disc is solid. A lot of jam to the disc that kicks ass down to some slower picking and slower tracks like So Little Time (that again calls Cornell’s slower stuff to mind). I would highly recommend this disc to anyone who is a Soundgarden or Cornell fan as well as those looking for some good rock music. Personally I’ve loved the music coming out the past several years that has proven that pure rock is not dead and this is no exception.
Pick it up here…
