I'll give it a few more days... we're moving into a week now with 3.5.x but I'll give it a little more time, otherwise I'll be back on 3.0.x fairly quickly.

How badly is DRM and SecuROM needed? Another blog noted Pete Hines has announced that Fallout 3 will ship with little to no DRM whatsoever because they want to trust their paying customers. See http://www.aeropause.com/2008/...hip-on-pc-minus-drm/

If you want to pressure EA games to unbundle DRM and SecuROM, there’s a campaign that just started to refuse to buy EA games until they remove DRM and SecuROM from their software. Check it out at http://www.thepoint.com/campai...out-drm-and-secu-rom

Figure each game costs $50 minimum, and if 500 people sign on, that would be $25,000 in lost revenue. For its loyal customer base, secretly adding DRM and SecuROM in their install is just not the way to treat us.

The three issues are that DRM and SecuRom are being installed without the user realizing it; DRM limits the number of computers you can install it on to five (previously three); and SecuROM has been affecting some people’s computers to the point that they needed to re-format their hard drive and uninstall the game to get their computer returning to normal.

And it takes just a minute to sign up. You can even sign anonymously.

Ahhh... here's where the Norton 360 debacle started one year ago and continued in April 08 w/360 v2.... I think naming should have been Norton 180.

Since I installed the "This Time Last Year" tool, I figured I'd comment occasionally on these. I can see that I was having a bad day on 5/1/2007! LOL I still agree but probably not as hard on Fight Night. I'm hoping a new one is coming soon...

I focused on the first part of your message! heh I was surprised about the stats and then completely disappointed about the implementation. I didn't see the part about copying another players stats, that's even more ridiculous.

I'm disappointed in the UT3 stats system as well (<a href="http://www.enemydown.co.uk/ut3stats.php?id=89693312" rel="nofollow">My Stats</a>). It's nothing like the old stats but it does work but it doesn't track recent games or a lot of stuff that 2004 supported or even 99. I think too much was done for console gamers (much like their mistake on 2003) and they're suppose to be releasing patches to make PC gamers happy again.

Hopefully Activision will do something with CoD4 as well but I'm not holding my breath, they're cashing in on consoles and I don't think worry too much about the things they leave behind for the PC.
