Archive for August, 2007I’ve started adding to my Bioshock screenshot area. You can check them out here. I also have some videos that I want to get up to YouTube that I’ll post later. I also added this to Xbox 360 since much of it’s the same in terms of feel and game play. Been a while on a post but had to pop in to throw this one out there. I picked up the disc the other day after hearing Operator on Sirius Octane a while back. This is an awesome disc. While the singer, Johnny Strong, sounds like a Chris Cornell imitator and I find it odd that someone would attempt to nearly duplicate a modern era legend like Cornell. There have been a few other bands like Thornley that give you that Cornell feel but not like Strong. While I don’t think he hits some of the higher notes it’s still a bit uncanny. Anyway enough rattling on about the vocals. The overall disc is solid. A lot of jam to the disc that kicks ass down to some slower picking and slower tracks like So Little Time (that again calls Cornell’s slower stuff to mind). I would highly recommend this disc to anyone who is a Soundgarden or Cornell fan as well as those looking for some good rock music. Personally I’ve loved the music coming out the past several years that has proven that pure rock is not dead and this is no exception. Pick it up here… This is when Larry was Dan Whitney… Lots of negative stuff but come on, comedy is about over exaggerating and all of the entertainment business is full of people recreating themselves. Larry gets on my nerves after a while but damn he did an upgrade on his act and has made millions at it and I have to give him credit for it. There’s a ton of bands that have changed to meet mass appeal like Journey & REO Speedwagon (both jazz type bands before), Pantera & Alice in Chains (both hair metal first), Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) and his 80’s new wave (dare I say garbage) and I like most of these bands updated sound…who cares what they did at one time or another. Sites like to hammer at the hair metal but I love Alice in Chains and could care less what they did before Facelift.
