How to Run Battlefield 2142 1.25 and 1.40 beta

So the beta is out and you want to try it. I had issues in previous versions of the BF series with trying to run two versions but after being told this doesn’t, I tried it and it works.
How to run Battlefield 2142 1.25 and 1.40 beta:
Copy (not MOVE) your 1.25 install to a folder in the same directory called Battlefield 2142.125 or whatever you named your code directory with the extension .125 (if you didn’t choose the default). If that’s not clear it may be hard for you but we’ll try more details: copy your Battlefield 2142 folder and paste it in the same directory, it creates it as Copy of Battlefield 2142. Rename it to Battlefield 2142.125.
Method 1:
Install the 1.40 patch. You can rename each directory when you want to play, so you rename the Battlefield 2142 folder to Battlefield 2142.140 and rename the Battlefield 2142.125 you created to Battlefield 2142 to play 1.25 version or vice versa to play 1.40. Launch BF2142 and it works. (Obviously you can name them what you want if you understand this method)
Method 2:
The other way you can do this is to use my VBS to do it. It’s not super cool or anything but I use it and it works great and thought I’d share it. You have to copy your shortcut to each folder since it looks there for the shortcut and if you use custom start items (such as widescreen, etc.), it will use them. You must have WSH enabled.
Download it Here! As I said it’s nothing special, it asks if you want to launch 1.25, if you click no, it asks if you want to launch 1.40, if you click no, it says you didn’t make a choice and exits.
Read the instructions in the zip file and always backup your code folders first. I take no responsibility for problems, however it doesn’t write anything to your hard drive, it checks your registry for your install path (InstallDir) and then renames the folder appropriately, so make sure you back up your 1.25 code to Battlefield 2142.125 (or your custom name.125 first). I’m no ubber-programmer but I know how to use vbs to do shit on my system so if you have something constructive about my code, let me know but screw off if you send me a bitching message. I’m just sharing this because it works fine on mine and a few friends systems with XP.
