Enemy Teritory: Quake Wars Beta, Part 2

I’ve only gotten about 2 1/2 hours in Quake Wars so far but it’s fun. My KDR is horrible but I’ve never been big on that piece. I have found that engineer points are easy to come by with the handy pliers. I wish that they’d release a second map to break up the monotony since the Sewer map is getting old even with my 2 1/2 hours. It’s no Strike at Karkand (BF2) or Camp Gibraltar (BF2142) so it gets old quick, at least for me. Honestly I don’t see a lot of issues with the beta and they’ve released one update so far that fixed the game numbers listing but beyond that I’m not sure what else it fixed since I really saw few issues with it but again I’ve not played it 24×7.
I think it will be a solid game but I’m still waiting for UT3.
Lightscribe Fun

I’ve had my Lightscribe drives for sometime now but not tried the function. I’ve had discs collecting dust since I bought the drives and finally started playing with it. It takes about 20 minutes to burn a decent amount of imaging. As an example, I burned a few Nine Inch Nails discs using the Technobots font for the NIN logo and I believe Reznor Broken for the track list printed on the disc. It took about 20 minutes but the quality is quite impressive if you have the time to wait for it to burn.
I also did an Iron Maiden disc with an image of Eddie that I used feather with a circular effect in Photoshop as well as a Guns N’ Roses disc with their old logo and they took about 25 minutes with the band name (in their font’s that I found on the web).
Overall I’m impressed even though it’s been around for a while.
I also used the “nifty” colored discs that I picked up this past week at Best Buy for $10 for 20, still $0.50 but not too bad. I know there are also Ink Jet printers out there that do it much quicker for under $100 but I like the look of the black print on the discs. I wasn’t out for frills but it still turned out more impressive than I thought it would be, but again at the price of time.
